Happy new year!

Hello guys,

I know it's still early but I'm spending my Christmas-New Year holidays mostly away from my PC, and it's highly possible that the next time I'm here will be on 3rd or 4th January. That's also the time when I should resume the work on 'Civilization'.

Therefore I would like to wish all of you the greatest 2016 year you can imagine for yourself. I also hope you will stick to The Endless World in this time :)

I'm also glad that so many of you are once more taking part in the poll, because the results show that I shouldn't be worried about the mythological creatures in the game. Hopefully I will come up with another poll to greet the new year once I'm back from the holidays :)

Take care till then
and stay tuned!

Merry Christmas

Hello everone,

I just wanted to wish all of you Merry Christmas, I hope you will spend the holidays healthy and that this special time will be full of joy.

I know it's the time, when people exchange gifts, so I have tried my best to have something for you as well. With that said, here you can see a bit more of Babylon.
Mind that MOST of the human-sprites, which are possible to be seen were customized by me (clothes, some body parts, other details), and every single NPC has his or her own face (mostly created with the standard RPG Maker MV tool).
Also, in the movie it is possible to see just a part of the city, but other areas are also full of life.
Lastly: Sorry for the quality but the blog has converted the file while I was uploading it...

Keep tuned guys
and once more:

Merry Christmas
from
Hazze;)

Babylon is blooming and a poll.

Hello guys!

I'm currently working hard on Babylon, and it seems I might need to spend also January in this great city ^^ But one thing makes me smile, The city is growing and blooming with every day ;)

But the real reason for this post is that I've just started yet another poll, and I strongly believe it will be the last one in 2015, so I hope all of you will participate and I will have a nice feedback to think about while entering 2016 year ;)

As always, I could use some help with pixel arts (even some basic ones) and of course with regular art. If there is anyone willing to help, please contact me. It can REALLY increase the pace of my work ;)

Finally, if you like my work and wish to support me: COMMENT and/or visit my PATREON.
If you wish to support me, but you can't use Patreon from whatever reason, please contact me as well.

Take care guys during these short December days and long nights ;)

The Christmas are coming ^^

December in Photoshop.

With yet another poll nearing its end I'm pleased that more than 80% of you have greeted with enthusiasm my concept for the 'Civilization', while further 12% voted 'It can be good' so it's not a negative feedback either. This poll clearly shows that I've taken the right direction.

Another good news is that I'm working hard on the game. I spend most of my after-work time doing it. However, currently the whole dedicated time is spend in Photoshop, and I believe it might stay this way for quite a bit longer, as there is huge amount of work to be done (at least for someone with my level of pixel arts :P).

As a small teaser, I would like to introduce you the first idea for the main heroine:

Here is Meretrix's main face and both naked and clothed models.
The face was created with RPG MAKER MV creator. I have only adjusted the color of the hair to match the one from the 'Beginning'. The models are much more custom made.
I'm not planning to hold a poll to see if you like it or not. Therefore, if you wish to share your opinion about it, please do so in the comments.

Again: I encourage you all to participate in the next polls and if you like the project and can share some money, please support me on the PATREON.

Finally, I could use some help from people, who are willing to work with graphics (pixel, or real art) without being paid for it (at least not from the very start).

Full introduction of the 'Civilization'!

The time has come to reveal quite some details about my second game ‘The endless world – Civilization’, which is being created now.

PLOT

As most of you know, the game is the second title in the series and it will once more follow the adventures of the heroine – Meretrix. After her hardships in the Stone Age, and a long long sleep after, she is about to wake up in a totally different times – the Ancient Times.

ENGINE

‘Civilization’ does not stick to the RPG Maker VX Ace engine, and instead it is being created in RPG Maker MV, meaning the general look of the game will change a bit.

INCLUDED CULTURES

Many people asked me, which cultures will be present in the game, so here are some details:
Babylon, Greece, Rome and Egypt – these four are intended as the MAIN lands, which will be compulsory locations, during the main plot. However the game is about to offer a lot of side content and side exploration, meaning there will be other fully-optional well developed locations to discover like Capua or Crete. We can also encounter other cultures there, such as Asyrians or Summers.
The mapping of the first one of the big cities is already done, as well as the general overview of the World map.

DIRECTION OF THE GAME

The idea of ‘Civilization’ is to go a bit in the direction of sandbox, and to give every town/village its own life, meaning that Babylon will have its own group of stories, problems and interactions, while moving to Greece will greet us with brand new experiences, other quests and issues to follow. The only direct bridge between the locations will be the main-story.

COMPANIONS

The second game in the series will also introduce the companions system. They will be able to support the heroine during the in game mechanic events (i.e. battles) but all of them will be also given complex side contents and quests. Here, the important aspect for me is to avoid patterns. It won’t be like: ‘speak what the character likes to hear for the entire game, then the character will approach you and eventually you go to bed right before the final battle of the game – the end’. It is by far too mechanic for my taste. Therefore every companion will have an unique approach toward him or her. I wish to keep the companions system as one of the most important issues and keep the ideas here as fresh as possible.

GAMEPLAY TIME AND BRANCHING

In general – just as it was in the ‘Beginning’ – I intend to keep things fresh for the entire playing time, which should be at least a few times longer than in the first game.
Speaking of which: Although the game will be at times linear, mostly it is intended to stay branched.

The pattern here is: 1 shorter event linear leading to two branched longer events, both routes then lead to 1 shorter linear event (with some differences depending on the route chosen earlier), and then again are split into two totally different paths. If I was to say, I would guess that the main story will be around 30% linear and 70% branched, but it’s just a guess right now.

All in all, the game is intended to have even more choices than in the ‘Beginning’ count and change the outcome.

GRAPHICS

Unless a miracle occurs, and someone talented joins my ‘crew’, all the graphics will be created by me. That means – I will prepare all the custom made sprites – both for characters and for the maps. Of course not all the sprites will be custom made, and regular materials from the maker database will be used as well.

Currently I’m using facepacks created by RPG Maker MV, just slightly upgraded by myself. It is yet unknown if I won’t try to create fully custom made faces, but if I decide to do so, it will be done, when the game is mostly completed in other areas.

As for the CGs. There are three options I’m currently considering:

  1. If I can get more Patrons I will pay someone to create the needed arts in a great quality. However, due to the small interest in patronage of my project this solution is really unlikely...
  2. After the game is completed I will spend a month or two sketching and trying to do some amateur arts. If I will consider these good enough I will spend another month coloring and improving these. This way the game can include arts BUT it will greatly expand the time needed to release it. Also, I’m NO artist, I will just give it a try eventually.
  3. I can give up on the CGs, simply because I will have no technical means to create these… As much as I would wish to avoid this outcome, it is possible that ‘Civilization’ will follow in ‘Beginning’ footsteps and will be left without many arts…

BATTLES

Lastly, I have few words about battles. As the poll to see your desired systems is nearing the end, and the results are coming really close to what I was expecting, I intend to implement two systems. Players should be able to make a choice whether they prefer to follow the story with or without battles/leveling and so on. I have general idea how to do it, so I believe it should come up fine ;) It is highly possible that non-battling system will also include occasional instant result encounters, the option, which was desired by the players as well.

FINAL NOTE
The whole concept might change slightly while the work will be progressing. I’ve just gave you an overview of what is CURRENTLY on my mind. Although I usually STRONGLY follow my ideas and concepts, please don’t take this text as an exact promise.

SUPPORT
Also, if you can spare some money and you wish to support the development of ‘Civilization’, please support me on my PATREON PAGE. It is REALLY vital for the game’s development to gather funds, as otherwise I am left 100% with only me to cover all the fields. That means MUCH more time needed to create the game, and LESS content simply because I’m not talented equally on all the needed fields.

If there are any artists, who are willing to help my project, without requesting payment, please PM ME. I will be more than grateful for the support.

First tiny look at the 'Civilization'.

Hello there guys,

I have just finished mapping the first one of the four big cities in the 'Civilization' universe - Babylon. I would like to share a general concept with all of you so here it is:

Not sure, if the miniature looks cool in any way, so here are some details, which may impress you at least a bit more:
The map consists of 25 small and rather detailed maps, meaning that you can actually see 25 locations. Each district of Babylon has it's own name and it's own reason for being there, so there won't be any locations meant for just sightseeing. I won't reveal too many details, but I know that during the Christmas time many people think about gifts, so I will try to provide you with some tiny ones as well. Speaking of which, you can expect a bunch of information about the whole 'Civilization' shortly after the current poll is completed! If you can't wait to learn more about the second game of the series, stay tuned ;)

Also: Guys, feel free to share your comments!

Finally: As usual, I'm looking for graphic helpers and I would like to encourage you to visit my PATREON PAGE if you feel like supporting me.

Let's try some pixels ^^ and yet another poll

Hi there,

It's finally December, and I can tell that 'Civilization' is progressing just as planned. I have already done the opening part and events in RPG Maker and because the need arised, I've decided to try something else for at least next few days.

Therefore currently I spend most of my creative time studying and making sprites. As you all know the lack of supporting artists means I have to handle it myself. Also, as 'Civilization' is being created in RPG Maker MV many things will need to get brand new looks - including the main heroine - Meretrix.

In the meantime, next poll was completed with no less than 80 participant. That is obviously a result that makes me happy.

Most of you are hungry for the in game pictures, with 36 votes (45%) pointing that the game can feel incomplete without these, and another 13 (16%) claiming that CGs are the main reason for playing the game.
On the other hand, quite some of you are more interested in the story and other aspects. 23 (28%) people admitted that pictures are nice, but the game's plot and mechanics are more important, while exactly every tenth person (8 participants) is not really interested in the pictures.

As always - thank you all for voting, as it gives me a nice view at players desires.

Also, another poll is lunched today, and here are some tips on how to understand it:
* Battles are not needed - the game focuses ONLY on choices and other actions. If there are any fighting scenes needed they are fixed cutscenes.
* Old school - traditional battles with the new side view included with a handful of new skills solution. Obviously I would aim to avoid the problem with lengthy and 'all the same' encounters.
* Strategy like - most time consuming to implement, but might be interesting. Basically it's the idea which was used in the final T-Rex battle in 'Beginning'
* Instant result - another idea, which was already present in 'Beginning'. If you meet the requirements you win, if not, you lose. Of course I would clarify the condition more this time so these would be easy to follow.
* Other - Not sure, what ways you guys can have in mind. You can write suggestions in comments or PM me.
* No matter the way - if you wish to tell me 'I want battles to be present and the system is not important'.

'Civilization' logo - first attempt

Hi there guys,

Today I have something different for you, and probably some of you have already noticed the change on top of the blog's main page.
I am no graphic maker, but due to the lack of supporting artists I've decided to try creating something myself. Therefore I wish to present you the Title Banner for the 'Civilization', second game in the series. I encourage you guys to leave comments with your opinions about it.

Take care ;)

A month after...

Hey guys,

Not sure if you are aware of it, but it's been exactly a month since the first part of The Endless World was released. I'm glad that during this time you - the players - were quite active and made my month busy with the 'Beginning'.

The fact that I could work so hard on the improvements of this first title in the series seems even more vital, when I consider the results of the third poll, which was concluded an hour ago. Why?

31 of all 63 (49%) participants said that they are yet to play/complete the game!
No additional comment is needed probably, but I will still add that I'm happy that the first advanture of Meretrix will stay on your PCs for another tiny little bit longer ;)
With that aside, however, my real intention was to check how much the players desire side content and 30% of you were actively involved with full exploration of the Stone Age universum. In details: 9 (14%) voters have completed everything there was to complete, 3 (4%) players have admitted they have finished two routes, while 8 of you have seen all the content, which was possible in one go.
This result seems satisfying with only 5 (7%) people getting briefly through the main story. Therefore I will surely try to come up with even more side content in the second part.

With all that stuff in mind, I would like to let you all know, that starting December I won't be spending so much time on the 'Beginning'. There won't be many quick fixes any more (I hope there are no more needed actually) and I will focus on the second part, which is going to be named 'Civilization'. As promised earlier: You can expect more details about it in December.

Stay tuned guys, and check the new poll! It should be an interesting one!

Some news, and third poll ;)

Hi there guys,

Been few days since my last post, so a handful of news tonight.

But first:

I'm searching for both REGULAR ARTISTS and PIXEL ARTISTS interested in joining my project. Contact me if you are interested!
Sorry, but I can't offer any payment until I can reach certain goals with my Patreon.

Now to the actual news:

My Patrons had their first occassion to vote for the direction of my work and they have decided that my focus will move directly to the second part of the game, so - oficially - there will be no extended version of 'Beginning', and all the little things, which seemed unfinished will be left this way. Hopefully it didn't bother the enjoyment rate too much and it won't do so in the future.

With that said, if you wish to join my supporters, please visit my PATREON PAGE.
I've also received reports that some of you are unable to use Patreon. If you are such a person, but still wish to support the project, please, contact me.

Also, there is a version 1.13 alternative available for download! It lacks few special effects (some of you won;t even notice the difference) but hopefully takes care of the game breaking bugs and some minor tweaks.

But moving forward...

As I've already mentioned once, the work on the second game is progressing, although the pace is suffering a bit lately, because I have a lot to do in my regular job. I have been also having some health issues recently, hopefully nothing that could hinder my rpg maker activities in a longer run ;)

I'm glad to inform all of you that the second open poll is now completed and yet again the players didn't fail my hopes and gave me a really nice feedback with 53 votes. Thanks to all the participants!

The results were much closer this time, as the winner - Mirillior received 20 votes (37%), just one more than Brunna, who came in second with 19 (35%), with Kid completing the 'platform' with 9 (16%).
Other votes were: Varlekka - 3 (5%), Myerda and Rayra - 1 (1%) each.

Finally, the third poll is now up! This time I would like to know if my players are explorers, who look for all the details, or just people, who are focused on finishing the main story. Please, share your experience with me ;)

Take care and stay tuned!

Summary of the first poll and start of the second one.

I'm glad that so many of you decided to come by and take part in the poll. With so many votes I can consider the results valid and it gives me a better idea of my players tastes. Thank you.

The results are following:

Out of 75 votes:
Kraflar got 40 (53%) and won the competition by a LARGE margin.
Sorv came in second with 17 (22%), while 8 of you (10%) didn't like any of the male characters.

The rest of the votes went to:
Someone else - 4 (5%), Bonatievour and Zaar - 3 (4% each).

Also, the second poll start right now. I hope it will be at least as popular as the first one, as the more feedback I get from you, the better I will know your likes and dislikes during my future work ;)

Take care guys ;)

Alternative version of the 'Beginning'!

Hello guys,

As most of the major game-breaking bugs were taken care of and quick fixes were not a real bother anymore, I've decided to check, what can be done about the biggest nightmare: freezing and lagging!

I've decided to delate few minor things (some special effects and stuff... nothing too serious) and see where this little adjustment can take me.

The results are following:
* During the new game I haven't encountered even a single slight freeze until I have successfully retrieved the jug in the most troublesome task, early in the game.
* However, I've also tested an old save file - right before reaching the final credits - and the lagging there still occurs...
* I can only hope that the optimized version works nicely with 'new game', while having some issues during loading the old saves.

Therefore, from now on there is an 'alternate' version (including all the fixes from 1.12) available to download. Hopefully it will make the game enjoyable.
Although, I would like this fix to take care of the freezing/lagging issue, I can't really guarantee that it will solve the problem once and for all.

Anyway: Enjoy the game guys ;)

The holidays rescheduled... Second Project started!

Hi there guys,

Although I've intended to rest during the November, I actually couldn't persuade myself to do it. Therefore, I have to delay my little vacation for some other time. Not that it should worry the players ;)

With that said, I've already finished writting the general concept of the main story and started first scratches in RPG Maker. There will be no real information about the second game until most likely sometime in December but I really wanted to let you all know that it is now a work in progress, and not just a plan anymore ;)

Two important points:
* I'm looking for an artist, who would wish to do some arts for the second game.
* I'm looking for someone skilled with pixel art, who would like to do some custom sprites, backgrounds etc.

In both cases I'm unable to pay for the help at this point. If you are interested, please, contact me.

Lastly, first open poll is getting closer and closer to an end, after it's completed, you can expect a new one. Thanks everybody for voting and stay put for more to come ;)

Searching for artists, a first open poll and some more news!

Hello guys!

'The Endless World - Beginning' is looking more and more stable, and it seems there are only few tiny bugs to handle, so I will make no rush this time and try to make the 1.12 version the final one. Hooray!

With that in mind, I've already started writting the plot for the second game's main story and it's going so well that I should have it done in no time. When it's ready - after a short vacation - I can get back to RPG Maker. Hooray again!

I'm also aware of the fact that more and more players expect the second part of The Endless World to feature more CGs and erotic graphics. For that reason I'm starting to look for artists, who would be interested in joining the project! Unfortunately, I'm not able to offer any money until the project reaches certain levels on PATREON. If you are interested, please, contact me, we can speak about the details.

I would like to remind my Patrons that the first closed poll, about the direct future of my work is ongoing.

And finally: The first open poll about your likes and dislikes is available on the right side of this blog! If the poll becomes popular enough you can obviously expect more in the future. I honestly encourage you to participate, so I can learn more about my players and improve my future work ;)

Take care!

An update from me and version 1.11

Problems with bugs are slowing down, so soon I will be ready to go through first summaries. You can expect few polls on the blog coming in the next weeks as it is always good to have players feedback ;)

Soon I should be able to slowly move to the second part of Meretrix advantures, I've already started taking the needed notes ;)

And the log:

1.10
* Issues with the infinite loop while leaving Sorv should be fixed.
* Fast travel to Sorv's area should not be possible anymore if player decides not to work for him.

1.11
* Drinking water should now work as intended.
* Further events with Kid should no longer occur if she is sent back during the night time conversation.
* Players should no longer be walk through the andom woman, who was saved by Mirillior in the punishment cave.
* The second sacred cave should now work well with the blood bought from Kraflar.
* Brunna should now be able to translate some women even if player failed to rescue Mirillior.

Also, if you like the game and wish to support my further work be sure to either:
1. Visit my PATREON PAGE
2. Share all your opinions about the game.

There are going to be two polls in total exclusive for patrons in November, which will determine my future work.

sobota, 31 października 2015

Some news and the Version 1.09

I would like to remind all of you that if you like the game you can support my next games in two ways:

1. Through PATREON
2. By sharing your views and opinions (not only reporting bugs) after you have finished the game.

Also: In a week time from now I'm going to hold the first poll for my partons, where they will be allowed to decide the course of my closest work.

Finally, yet another fix to the game:

A quick log:

Version 1.09:
* Sorv special task should now work as intended.
* There should be no more problem with Meretrix sprite while temporary taking a boy from Kindergarden.
* Added a minor fix to the 'free sample' choice during the first Sacred Cave.

piątek, 30 października 2015

Version 1.08

Well, As I try to keep the game as stable as possible there is a version 1.08 already.

However this one might be the most important one for some people, as I received a report that there is a bug which makes the game impossible to be finished if played in a certain way.

This version should get rid of this problem.

But the log:

1.07

* Rayra is no longer present in Darut's cave if she was already freed.
* Fixed the issue with Meretrix sprite being unable to turn, which might have occured after beating Darut.
* Jug full of blood can no longer be sold back to Kraflar.

1.08

WARNING: Trigger in this version was changed, meaning that if you have started retrieving women and then transfered your save to this version, the already saved women won't be counted to your total in the exit battle!

* The four men won't be blocking the way anymore if you are informed that the escape route is free to go.
* If the game counted retrieved wrongly for you, therefore making the game impossible to be finished, now the issue should be fixed, just requires playing the final act fully again.

Version 1.06

Another quick review of the latest fixes.

Version 1.05
* Reporting first Bonatievour mission to Sorv should now work properly.
* An event with both Trish and Myerda in the Carpenter Cave should no longer occur during the final act.

Version 1.06
* Party members should no longer be able to wear equipments.
* Flashing Berries no longer stay in the equipment after giving these away to the boy.
* 'Shop' in the Kraflar's menu should now work as intended with the accessories.

Also, I hope soon I will write something more than just the bug fixing logs. Check the blog regulary ;)

Take care guys ;)

czwartek, 29 października 2015

Version 1.04

Hopefully we are getting closer and closer to a totally bug free version :P

Issues solved:

version 1.03
* Solved some issues connected to being trapped in the first sacred cave (events with Kraflar)
* Reporting Agraar's missions to Sorv should now work as intended.

version 1.04
* Getting a special task from Sorv should now be possible.
* Probably solved the issue with invisible men blocking the way to Hunters District during the final escape part, which could occur if player choose either Kid's or Kraflar's route.

środa, 28 października 2015

Version 1.02

Just a short information.

WARNING: SPOILER AHEAD!

The new version takes care of the issue, which made Meretrix stuck in the Women dormitory underground cave if player failed to speak to all three women above before. The place in question should now be unavailable until the conversations are done. But just in case I missed something and someone is still able to enter the underground without completing the dialogues it should not stuck anyway :P

Also, I've updated grammars and spellings, as pointed by the user named brofalla at ULMF, pretty thanks ^^

Once more: Enjoy the game guys (hopefully with no further bugs :P)

Final preparations before the release...

Hello there guys,

Everything takes a bit longer than expected but the adjustments are progressing.
The release should not be delayed, and the game will be out before the month is over.

Just writing to keep the interested people calm (if anyone even checks the blog that is :P).

wtorek, 20 października 2015

Time for a blog!

Hello there guys,

Hazze here.

Because my first game is completed I have decided that it is high time for me to create a blog and try to keep all the people, who are interested in my games, informed. I used to use Hong Fire thread, but from now on the topics on few forums will not be my primary way of communication. However, I will try to keep these updated as well.

With that said: welcome everybody on my blog!
